Tijana Petkovic - Family Lawyer

Biography

Tijana holds a Bachelor of Law Degree with first class honours from the University of Newcastle.

Her initial experience as a family lawyer was gained at a Newcastle firm where she was also involved in commercial litigation and employment law work. She was also a legal associate at the Family Court undertaking research, assisting judges and editing judgments in family law matters, a role which gave her a detailed understanding of the Court's workings behind the scenes, and more importantly, how to be effective when dealing with the Court and get things done.

Tijana helps people with issues surrounding divorce and separation, child custody, domestic violence, financial agreements, property settlements and spousal maintenance.

Tijana says, "Being an excellent family lawyer requires constant updating of your skills and knowledge, however going beyond that, my experience in working for judges in the Family Court gives me an advantage. I have seen first hand the impact that legal knowledge and an understanding of how facts ought be presented has on the Court."

When not at work Tijana enjoys travelling, walking and attending tennis tournaments.
